lives.Summary of PositionYou are a subject matter expert with
hands-on experience supporting MySQL databases and ProxySQL.
Preference will be given to candidates with additional experience
in other databases the team supports; SQL Server, , Redshift and
Mongo. You will be primarily focused on day-to-day production
database administration for these databases.Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
- Implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL
performance tuning, and assist in business process integration with
various data sources.
- Fulfill user requests such as access control, backup, restore,
refresh to non-production, and performance tuning.
- Provide online & on-call coverage for support of our production
environments.
- Automate processes using tools like Jenkins, Puppet, Docker,
Kubernetes, Packer, and Terraform.
- Document and improve operational practices and procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in all environments.
- Participate in other projects and duties as assigned, as well
as on-call rotation.
- Monitor and supply database metrics with tools like New Relic,
Nagios, Graphite, MonYog, PMM, etc.The time spent on each
responsibility reflects an estimate and is subject to change
dependent on business needs.Supervisory
ResponsibilitiesNoQualifications Expected for Position
- At least five years of hands-on experience in MySQL and
ProxySQL administration.
- A strong background in automation and scripting (bash, PERL,
python) to develop DBA applications for system automation and
integration.
- Experience in complex data tier architecture, including
replication, clustering, and system interaction with the DBMS.
- Bachelor's degree with applicable major or equivalent
demonstrated through a combination of the following: work
experience, training, military experience, and/or education .
- Experience with the Azure or AWS ecosystem.
- Able and willing to work in a team environment, adopt a culture
of ownership and initiative, and promote such within the team.
- Able and willing to work independently and in a fast-paced
environment with tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills,
verbal and written. Be able to discuss our technology with both
technical and non-technical audiences in a geographically dispersed
environment.
- Have familiarity with continuous integration, testing, and
deployment.
- Have familiarity with software development lifecycle, including
version management and ticketing systems such as Git and
Jira.Required license or credential needed to perform job: N/AThe

position is$130,000.00-$140,000.00.In addition to a base salary,
this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits
