Investors include Accel, Tiger Global, Will Smith's Dreamers VC, The Chainsmokers' Mantis VC, and Shari Redstone's Advancit Capital, as well as renowned figures in business and culture, like Maria Sharapova, Tony Hawk, and NYU Stern professor Scott Galloway.About the Role:As the Director of Business Development, you will identify, engage, and secure partnerships to drive user acquisition and engagement. This role requires someone who can be both strategic and hands-on, combining business development with an understanding of technical integrations (e.g., APIs). We are looking for a scrappy, highly-motivated individual who can own the outreach and onboarding process and work cross-functionally to bring meaningful partnerships to life.Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnership Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive partnership strategy to identify and target high-impact partners that align with Public's growth goals and brand mission.
  • Pipeline Development: Identify and proactively reach out to potential partners, building a robust pipeline of opportunities across both traditional and non-traditional sectors, including finance, tech, lifestyle, and more.
  • Deal Execution: Negotiate and secure strategic partnerships, managing deal terms and contracts to ensure mutual benefit and alignment.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering teams to align on partner integration requirements, ensuring seamless onboarding and collaboration across departments.
  • Integration Management: Serve as the liaison for partner integrations, managing API requirements, and utilizing reporting tools such as Looker to measure and optimize campaign success.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Establish KPIs for each partnership, regularly reporting on performance metrics, user acquisition impact, and ROI to stakeholders.Qualifications:
    • Experience: 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or similar roles, preferably within fintech, tech, or consumer-facing industries.
    • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of technical integration processes, including API capabilities and data reporting tools like Looker; ability to communicate effectively with technical teams.
    • Deal-Making Skills: Proven track record of successfully negotiating and securing high-impact partnerships, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
    • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically and execute tactically, prioritizing partnerships that drive Public's growth objectives.
    • Data-Driven: Strong analytical skills and experience in evaluating partnership performance metrics, with the ability to adjust strategy based on quantitative insights.
    • Scrappy & Resourceful: Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of end-to-end processes.
    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present to internal and external stakeholders.Compensation and Benefits:
