Job Description:

One of New York's top hospitals is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Manager Surgery near Poughkeepsie, NY, to provide quality patient care and lead the OR team.

In this full-time, day-shift position, the RN Manager Surgery will be responsible for overseeing professional nursing care and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the operative experience. This includes coordinating daily case flow, managing both scheduled and add-on surgeries, and collaborating closely with the anesthesia department and other necessary departments to ensure the smooth running of operations. The RN Manager Surgery will also supervise the OR scheduler, ensuring block booking of surgical cases, and monitor the availability of equipment and implants.







In addition, the RN Manager Surgery will be responsible for budget management, including completing monthly variance reports and maintaining communication with the Finance Department to ensure accurate charges and reimbursements. The role also involves mentoring and guiding new staff, managing daily staff assignments, scheduling, and facilitating educational opportunities to promote professional growth. A key part of the role will be fostering a collaborative and supportive atmosphere that encourages teamwork and excellence in patient care. The RN Manager Surgery will participate in performance improvement (PI) activities, complete annual staff evaluations, and ensure high standards through evidence-based practice.
